The tour starts at Saanen and mostly secondary roads are used. It's a beautiful route via Abländschen and Zweisimmen back to Saanen. The Mittelberg pass and the thrilling downhill from Jaun pass are the highlights of the tour.

From the picturesque Saanen, the tour starts along the main road direction Schönried. Turn left in direction to the restaurant Sonnenhof and continue the bike route number 59. The side street with low traffic follows leisurely to the Grischbach. From km 12, it gets tough. With five serpentines and partly high percent of gradients, the side road rises within 2.5 kilometres up to the Mittelbergpass. Then a long descent follows down to Jaun. During the first half, pay attention from cows and gullies. On the street down at the river are some defects on the surface. But all in all, a great descent. From Jaun-Kappelboden, it gets steep again. The further short Jaunpass needs strong calves or still some power left in the battery. Furthermore, the sun shines there from midday very strongly onto the street. To average out at 8.6 %, and the strongest gradients with more than 15 %, it goes up to the pass. Avoid the tunnel and enjoy the beautiful view back to the Mittelbergpass. The descent from the Jaunpass is one of the highlights of the tour. 8.5 kilometres on a good surface with serpentines, straights and nice views. In Reidenbach, turn left and just after right onto the national bike trail number 9. Follow this trail until Grubenwald and go then onto the side street further to Mannried and Zweisimmen. From Zweisimmen, take again bike route number 9 and master the last «Pièces de résistance». Just after Oeschseite and before Saanenmöser are two absolutely dignified «Murs» which exact the last power. The descent to Gstaad and the following part along the river to Saanen can be used to cool down.

Take two batteries with you or have lunch at restaurant Zytbödeli and charge your battery there with your recharger. Also the other way around a great tour. On typical weekend for motorcyclists much traffic on the Jaunpass. Drive early or late.
