With its beautiful slopes and panoramic views, Gstaad's local mountain, the Wispile, is delightfully attractive. It also has a toboggan run down to heritage-protected Gsteig. A visit well worth making!

Take the comfortable cable car from the car-free chalet village of Gstaad and up to the Wispile mountain station. Before you start racing downhill you will first have to pull your toboggan for about 40 minutes to the starting point. This easy walk leads along a beautiful panoramic path along the ridge. As compensation for your efforts, you have a magnificent view of Spitzhorn, one of the pre-summits of the Wildhorn.

Set off at speed from the Chrinetritt. The upper part of the route, which is also used by winter hikers, is definitely not for the faint of heart. The descent starts off at a steep and rapid pace, and you start moving really quickly and have to be careful to take the tight corners safely. This section of the route is perfect for the more daring adventure seekers. The lower part is slightly less steep. The one-hour downhill run takes you across open country and past several wooded areas.

The heritage-protected village of Gsteig is located at the bottom of the valley at the foot of the Col du Pillon. The church here and the neighbouring Hotel Bären are among the most frequently photographed typically Swiss locations. It is only a few minutes walk from the end of the toboggan run to Gsteig itself. From here, the Postbus will transport you back to the Wispile valley station.
